anyone in the NC contingent have a shoulder brace capable of holding an HVX that I can borrow/rent? or know where to get one? Need it Wed-Sat this week. Thanks!

If its just the HVX and no adapters or other crazy rig accessories, You could probably buy a Spider Brace for what you might rent one for. They are vary inexpensive and some users have had good results with them. You could have it overnighted to you. They are in TX.

lol ... i know, i used to have one... might be the route we go, but would like to see if there's any other option out there. (used a spiderbrace with the same rig last time and it was a little wobbly with all the stuff i had on the HVX)

Footage is wobbly due to improper balance. That's the whole Zacuto turnkey solution idea. Look for a proper shoulder pad and counter weight. If you were closer, I'd let you borrow my Zacuto baseplate, Z-grips, and lunchbox setup. However, I'm going to test out the Canon 5D2 in Chicago next week.

Good luck.

hey thanks man ... maybe i'll call on you in the future to try it out.

The spiderbrace footage was wobbly cause the spiderbrace is a $70 glorified piece of bent PVC pipe that creaks loudly if the loud is too heavy. I had the HVX with a anton bauer elipz 10k battery, and on-board shotgun. It probably was a little much for the PVC.
