well, i don't have a lot of moolah to throw around, but i want the best all-around mic that what little green i have can buy. so is there a good mic that works in lots of environments that costs... say < or equal to $200? i've been looking at how much the mics talked about on this forum cost, is sub $200 unrealistic?

hahaha ;D (just kidding)
if you read what is below, you will find the same question and the answer almost every page.
You can't really buy anything good quality with 200 dollars, but most people suggest Oktava M012 as bang for the buck.
Oktava M012 with hyper or cardioid capsule for 193 dollars at http://sound-room.com
but I hear it is very hard to handle, so you need a good boom operator.

Re: please, don't laugh.

no, I think oleg meant ME66 being a good mic, since almost everyone here agree that there are many better mics available for that price.

i think you can say whatever you wont and do whatever you like( as long you dont hurt anyone) , thats your money against my opinion , you dont have to take it to the bank :-)
