Can anybody please help ! I am about to buy a Mac Pro and can find out how to connect the BT-LH 1700 to it. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think the base model Video card is SDI-D out and canott be connected to the BT-LH1700. Like I said I'm not so sure about this. I think I would need a Decklink card which seems to be the universal card for use with different editing progs and equipment. But which one do I need ? If anybody is using the BT-LH1700 with the mac maybe you could clear this up. Cheers !

you need either a capture card with RGB component inputs, or SDI / HD-SDI inputs.
Or the matrox box that converts DVI (what your mac has) to HD-SDI.

Great!! thanks esperman !!! I have seen the matrox but I believe that is restricted to use with final cut. I was looking at getting the Mac Pro and also running XP progs on it. I think the Blackmagic cards are almost universal (please correct me if I'm wrong) and would allow me to use Vegas 6 and other prog's which I'm already using. The problem is I'm not sure which cards to go for. Thanks again for the post !!

check out the decklink cards.
I have no complaint with my HD Plus pci-x.
you'd need a PCI-E card with the Mac Pro.

Thanks esperman !! Will definatly look at this; as it seems like an affordable option for use with the BT-LH 1700. Cheers !!
