I am getting married in exactly 12 hours as I type this. I dont need to be on here in the morning and I dont want to be tempted to be on here at all during the honeymoon. I dont want her to know about my addiction the first week. Hudson, please ban me for one week. Thanks

By the way, you realize that even if he bans you you're going to be loading up the page to make sure you're still banned, right?

You know you could combine your madness with your wedding night, post pictures. That way your wife will get into all the witty banter it will generate.

Let us know how it went -- in a week or so.
 
I think it is starting to become the 'cool' thing to do... being banned in that name of productivity. Personally this helps me be more productive, but maybe that's just me.
 
certainly isnt me.....ive done nothing....for months now.

It's pretty crazy being fully addicted to something like this.

I check DVXuser at least 3 times a day... and if I'm near a computer at somebody else's house or work... it better not be on and live... or I'll check it again.

I first knew I had a problem when me and my GF were heading out to dinner and I said I had to p before we left... I breezed past the computer and saw several gold circles (indicating new posts on topics I was following) and I bent down to my desk to breeze the new posts as quick as I could... I figured if she came in it wouldn't look as bad as me just sitting there at my desk reading the forum.

I'm pretty sure I ended up just leaving and using the bathroom at the restaurant... I got totally engrossed in one of Pookie's threads or something.

But hey if somebody has to ask to be banned just to stay away... MAN I'll bet that guy is JONES'IN right now! See he's only going to be gone a week and already I'm calling him "that guy" instead of Hector.

Congratulations on your soon to be eternal wedded bliss That Guy.

(now to the rest of you I've been married before and I'm glad I'm not that guy)
 
The sacrifices you make for her, banning yourself from DVXuser. She must be some woman. ...And a lucky one at that, to meet a guy who is willing to give up the only thing good in his life (DVxuser). Not since King Edward VIII gave up his throne, to marry a commoner, has there been such a love story. They will write books and make animated cartoons about Hectorxd and his wife. Oh yes they will.

I'm a hopeless addict, too. I'll wake up in the middle of the night to "go to the bathroom" and end up here for an hour. My girlfriend is starting to think I need more fiber in my diet.:laugh:
 
HA! It's not just me. Sure, I'll be just known as "the guy who got banned because he couldnt finish his thesis paper". But we are all in this together.

You see, John's probably addicted too (notice the nearly 14,000 posts) but he's got a perfectly legal excuse. He's a mod. He's got a great alibi.

Hey, that gives me a great idea. I think Jarred should make ALL of us "mods" and the real moderators non mods. It'd be a great smoke screen. So next time my girlfriend says, "what are you doing on that site again" I can say, "nothing........just bannin' people".

EDIT: Sorry man...amidst my rant I didn't even congratulate you on your nuptuals. Congrats and have a blast. I, for one, am terrified to walk down the aisle but a couple of close friends and family have gotten married over the past two years...they say its the best thing they've ever done!

I decided to "quit" the forum cold-turkey for awhile to get some other stuff rolling, now I am easing back in...feels like I've been gone for ages and am totally out of the loop. Like a virgin.

You'll feel so cleansed Hectorxd upon your return and touched for the very first time.

Congrats on the wedding and go enjoy your honeymoon. Try not to think of all the wonderful things happening here while your away. It might start eating at you. Dxvuser will be here when you get back...or will it?
