Hi guys,
I have Vegas Movie Studio 10 Platinum and I am currently editing various scenes for a short film that I am shooting. One very short scene is a thirteen second time-lapse of a sunset over a motorway. To achieve this, I filmed continuously for about 45 minutes at 1/2 shutter speed in MOV format (at 30 fps). I then used Vegas to compress the shot down to speed up the playback into 22 minute clip I then went through the clip on Vegas and, at about every 2 second intervals, edited (cut/copy) each frame. When I had 390 frames (13 seconds) evenly cut from a 22 minute clip, I achieved a really nice time-lapse. I then rendered the time-lapse so I can simply import this onto the timeline when I'm editing the short film.
However, I am a bit considered with one thing. When I rendered the time-lapse, I rendered it into a MOV format clip because footage from the rest of the short film is gonna be recorded in MOV format. Being so impressed with how the time-lapse came out, I went to view it on QuickTime and when I press play the time-lapse seems to stop and stutter during the playback on QuickTime. It usually takes about 4 or 5 attempts before the playback in QuickTime runs smoothly without any stuttering. I am concerned now that this stuttering may cause me problems when I import it and render the entire short film project. My question is this: Is the stuttering caused by my computer not being fast enough to play it back on QuickTime for the first few attempts OR is it because I didn't render the clip correctly on Vegas?
Has anyone else had problems similar to this?
By the way, I don't have any playback stuttering when viewing the clip on Vegas. It only happens when viewing it on QuickTime.
