Playback Cameras - Which handle 24p?

what's recorded basically is data and the playback camera will read it. however if the camcorder doesn't display timecode doesn't mean it wasn't recorded or that it won't pass on that info to the NLE. i've captured from other camcorders and in my NLE (premiere) the timecode reads as it did when recorded. so what i guess you're really looking for is a camcorder that shows timecode. as stated above it's going to be 29.97fps regardless of mode...that's how the info is recorded.

Hmmm...I haven't tried it with Premiere, only Final Cut Pro. I don't get anytimecode coming in via firewire. I have it on advanced pulldown removal pre-set. I also tried switching it to just plain DV NTSC 48kHz (aka 60i) and that did not make any difference.
It looks like I'm not the only one with this problem:

are you using a gs400???

not the point...anyway...i understand where you're coming from. i used to use a PV-DV52 and one day it said "i'm not a step-child to the dvx!" and stopped working. so now i have to use my dvx to capture. so i really don't know hwat to tell you, but one thing is for sure 24p is 29.97fps and that's how the TC will display if you get it working on another camcorder. however as i said even if the camcorder doesn't display that info is a part of the DV file and will be captured as such. if it didn't work then the whole batch capture would be useless.

No, I am using a GS120, same line of camera though. I went to circuit city today and brought a tape w/some 24pa footage on it and played it back on some of their mini dv cameras. It worked fine on the pv-gs29, 39, and 300! I also got the Sony HC 26 and 36 to work (by work I mean displaying timecode on the LCD/EVF for 24pa footage).
