I just turned 24: I'm not hip to 3-pixel characters and I refuse to pretend like I'm retro. I was disappointed in the Atari when I got it for Xmas one year. E.T. blew so hard.

LOL. Dude, that game was the worst. I mean, I was like eight maybe? My mom brings home this Atari for the holiday and E.T. is with it. I think I played it for an hour before I started crying.

And then, the Sega Master System? I was playing Altered Beast for the first time at age ten (1991 or 1992).. and the asian dude in the horrible .wav voice was like.. "Wise fwum yo gwave..."..

QUOTE ME: Are they insulting my intelligence?

I never touched that system again.

Snowboard Kids was awesome man.

Mario 64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark (Goldeneye with Aliens), Snowboard Kids, Mario Golf, and Mario Party were always favorites of me.

Funny to think of N64 as a piece of Nostalgia now, huh?

PC

The Battlefield 1942 and subsequent franchises of Vietnam. Desert Combat. Forgotten Hope. Battlefield 2

PS

Resident Evil Series
NBA 2K Live
Madden
MLB

It definitely is. Sad to say that I didn't have that many favorites on that system, and I was once a hardcore Nintendo advocate.

Snowboard Kids was great, as well. I purchased that game five different times, and a lot of times it was just to listen to the music.

Well to those of us not lucky enough to be born into a world where Pac-Man is a historical novelty, the Atari 2600 was mind blowing. I would compare it to 100 years ago when people first peared into a kinetoscope; blew their minds. Now that stuff is only interesting in a historical sense. 30 years from now the Xbox 360, heck anything you view on a monitor and control with your fingers, will seem boring and unrealistic.

Meanwhile I will be in my rocking chair trying to jump Pitfall Harry across 3 more croc heads.

Yeah, seriously, though.

Between Nintendo and now, that was all the real video game growth. But, I can only imagine what playing Pacman was like before video games ever existed.

The last video game I played was Zork, text version, on my Apple ][+ :undecided

And yes, it was on a 5 1/4" floppy.

Apple II ?

LOL

If I could get into war games, I'd get an Xbox360. Those images are killer. Only war game I like is Counter-Strike, though.

PS3 and Wii are on my shopping list.

Zork, now that's a game..."You are in cave with a bird on your left and a cage on your right" :love4:

There's a game coming out called Gears of War... You guys hear of it?

I can't find any screenshots right now, but I'll tell you this much--the ones I've seen, if they truly are no BS touchup gameplay shots--THEY'RE RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING.

If it's gameplay is any good at all, this will probably be up there with Halo for great futuristic alien type games.

By the by, quoted Kholi because he mentioned the 360 images being killer. This game is coming out for 360.

I'm looking into PS3, too, but Halo 3 might drive me to a 360 when it's released.

Have you seen Final Fantasy PS3 shots? Even the Final Fantasy 7 PS3 Demo was nuts... but the new shots sold me on a PS3. I don't care how much it costs, I have to have one to play Squaresoft games.

It's like... how much better can graphics get?
