Plastic Magnets need some info

I was watching the History Channel channel a few nights ago, and they had a program about magnetism. It was Modern Marvels: Magnets.

One of the things they talked about was the invention of plastic magnets.

Not only is a completely plastic magnet impressive enough, with overwhelming possibilities for tech use, but they are able to change the strength of the magnetic field by hitting the plastic with a lazer. A blue laser (I believe it was Cobalt) will decrease the magnetic strength by 60%, and hitting it with green lazer increases the magnetism by 150% percent. Lasers incorporated into magnets equals fantastic possibilities for miniaturization of medical implants, new ways to store data, and keep it stored (think ram that never loses info), as it is encoded as strenghts of magnetism insead of conventionally.

Neat stuff indeed, but I am having a hard time finding the links to it. If someone could help out, that be awsome.

Comments of course, and suggestions of applications of such tech would be welcome
