Placing Lav on Baseball Player

Has anyone had any experience putting a lav on someone swinging a bat? Not like on the set of GoodFellas but a baseball player. I am taping a baseball clinic tomorrow and want to mic up the instructor. I am not sure how much clothing rustle to expect and how to avoid it if I can.

I plan to use moleskin to attach the mic under his jersey but I am unsure how to run the cable to avoid noise during throws and swings. I am not too worried about it since he only wanted frame grabs from the footage to begin with. But there is a chance it could turn into something more so I want to do what I can to make it sound right.

Thanks in advance for any help.

There's no reason the mic has to be completely hidden under the jersey. Clip it to the jersey with the capsule protruding at the V in the neckline or if it's a button-up jersey, a little lower protruding through the button flap. No need to hide it UNDER the jersey and have to worry about the cloth rubbing over it or attenuation of the sound through a layer of fabric. But don't let the cable dangle free; run it from the mic capsule under his shirt around his waist to the transmitter clipped into the small of his back

Just a small point here. If you put the transmitter on the small of back, do NOT put it on the spine. This is a no no for athletes. Place that transmitter off to one side of the spine so that during a fall, slide, or other motion it won't put undue pressure on the spine.

Thank you Steve & Perrone. I agree that concealing the mic element isn't important, especially since it is the b6. I had planned to let it stick out of a button hole or v-neck to avoid contact with the element. My concern was running the cable since there is so much rotation and sudden movement. Great point on where to place the transmitter. I highly doubt he will slide for this but I will avoid the spine area regardless.

Thanks for the help.
