placing chapter markers

In the DVDSP3 manual, it says that a chapter marker can't be within 1 second of the beginning or end of a clip. What's the workaround for this, if you don't want viewers to have the first second of a chapter cut off? Include a couple of seconds of garbage footage or slug before the first frame you want seen?

Just move the marker up several frames. When you watch the DVD and hit the skip button on the player or remote it will start the chapter at the begining and nothing will be lost. I know it sounds quirky but I was in the same boat as you recently until someone told me to re adjust my markers away from the begining of a clip or right before or right after a transition. So I moved them up several frames...not sure on how many but enough that is away from a transition or begining or ending of a clip. Everything worked after I made the adjustments.
