pixelation issue?

Hello.

Let me begin by saying that I am not sure this is the correct forum for this question...but having said that:

My brother and I were outside shooting against a rock wall and I was wearing a bright red jacket and he was wearing a tweed pastel 70's sportcoat...I didn't notice this on the either monitor (the lcd display on the camera or on the laptop screen)...I was using live capture via firewire...anyway, what I didn't notice, was that after reviewing the footage, I see what I can only describe as pixelation, or red lines that appear just outside the frame of the red jacket, just choppy red lines. It's as if I were using a bad tape or something, they don't extend too far outside the jacket, but they are definately noticeable...do you guys know what I mean? And it's only the bright red jacket that has this issue, not any of the more subtle colors in the shot. Does anyone know what this might be due to?? Has anyone had this problem?

It should also be noted that I re-shot the same jacket indoors (I just sort of held it in front of the camera; using live capture again) and the problem wasn't as noticeable...maybe just some very slight 'pixelation'.

Would this be due perhaps to the bright jacket, or a bad connection, or something more sinister? The camera has only 22 hours....dirty heads??

I will be searching dvxuser further for my answer, and any express help would be greatly appreciated...

and after doing a little more research into my problem just now, I have discovered that this might be 'strobing' or these might be 'interlace lines'?? the only issue with the possibility of this being some sort of strobing is that the camera is stationary the entire time....and the movement is minimal, just the two of us talking...and these red lines are apparent regardless of movement...the footage was shot with the dvx100b, at 24ap (f6 under 'scene file')...to my knowledge, this is the first time this has happened.

hope this helps further.

thanks.

Barry F-ing Green! Good to hear from you...and thanks for the (relatively) good news. Also thanks to BennisHahn.
