Pixelated text when rendering out in 720p?

So I have these simple captions and titles I've made in Vegas using their basic Generated media text. When I export in half size 640x360 the text looks great. When I export in full 720p, 1280x720, the text looks pixelated...

Is this just a limitation of Vegas? I'm using Vegas Pro 9.0b. I guess the way around this is make the titles in Photoshop and import to Vegas, but I'd rather not do this as positioning them means adding more video tracks and making things less organized.

I have not encountered this problem before. Is your project at 720p one? Because when you place text on the time line, it is generated at the project resolution and doesn't scale to the output size. You can check this in the upper right hand corner of the text edit box. It should say 1280x720. If it doesn't, then change it to that.

Also, some people like to double the size of the generated text based on their project resolution, so you might also want to try 2560x1440.

I've never seen this before, either; Vegas has always scaled text very well. Don't know why that might change in V9.

Which font is this?

This a good point. I know that I changed the project resolution back to 720p (originally had it at 640x360, source material is 720p) before I rendered but not before I created the text. I'll try recreating the text after changing to 720p. I have a feeling this could be my problem.

If I try the double the resolution trick then I suppose I would also check conform media to project settings? Then though when rendering obviously choose 720p resolution, so the source media would be doubled when working in the project and then regular when rendered.

check that the text generator is not smaller then your export size.

Not sure what you mean by this.

He means that your project properties must always be correct, using the source footage's properties. And so the text generation happens in that size too, so when you export you don't upresize, or simply resize -- because this has a quality hit. You must have the right properties before you start editing with generated media (for pics/videos is not a big deal as Vegas resizes them on the fly when you change the project properties, but for generated media it doesn't).

What Efexone said, is also my idea of what happened to you.
