Pixel ratio problem? Sequence settings help

I have a weird question and probably a kind of stupid one. I spent tons of hours editing in FCP 6, then decided to create a new sequence to try my hand at a different edit. I forgot to set the new sequence to 720HD24p, so my sequence was set up for NTSC... I couldn't figure out why some clips looked stretched and when I tried to scale a clip, it would scale outside of my aspect ratio. Anyways, I realized what my sequence was set up for and changed it to 720HD24p, but it didn't change a thing. I noticed in small print below audio/video settings dialog box that once clips are in, you can't change the sequence settings. So, I created ANOTHER new sequence and set it at 720HD24p this time first thing. I copied my entire edit from the previous new sequence and pasted the edit into the new 720 sequence, but now every clip is squashed. It's like my pixel ratio is all jacked and I can't figure out how to make everything right. Can someone help me? There is no way I have to edit the entire footage again just because I forgot to set up my sequence settings in the beginning, right?

Thank you!
Brad

Highlight all your clips in the new sequence, go to edit>remove attributes. Select distort. Hit OK. Your footage should snap to the proper ratio.
