pitching ideas

Hey DVXusers,

I did some searching and still am not entirely satisfied with a question I had about pitching ideas....

So through some friends of friends I got in touch with this fairly big NPO about doing some spots for them, specifically PSA's. They want to meet with me to toss some ideas around. I assume they have a couple, and I have a few that I think have some potential. My question is, in this sort of situation, how thourough should I be describing these ideas? I highly doubt it would happen, but I'd rather not discuss some things with them and then have them decide to go with someone else (I read a post from Grinner saying there are 3 shows on tv right now that were his ideas). Could I shoot a rough version of what I had in mind and show them? Storyboard ideas? Scripts? Or should I go in there and just sell myself, and just go with whatever ideas they have? I'm brand new to this sort of stuff so any advice on this situation would help.

Thanks-a-plenty:dankk2:

the more you can show them, the better. Selling an idea is hard. Selling a product is not.
If you can't shoot it, print out ther best visual pitch you can with pictures galore and details descriptives. Not a bible but not exactly a one sheet either. Seperate yourself from it and make what you'd need to see to be sold on it.

Adam, I know this is a late reply..but you can use a simple NDA for next opportunities. Just mentioning that they will not in any way use the ideas you are sharing with them. Hope the NPO deal worked out for you!

Good luck!
