Hey everyone :)

I recently shot a generic sneaker commercial and wanted to know who should I contact about picking up the advertisement. Is there a protocol for these types of things?

I figured someone on this great board of knowledge could help me out.

Good ad agencies are called upon by companies for pitches and campagnes.
Unknown ad agencies have to call the companies and hand-sell them.
Your people skills are the only way to get this going, even if you picth it to an ad agency to let them picth it.
Cold call, smile, and don't give up.
copyright your stuff too, man.

Think of it as a part of your reel, a demo ad to show to ad agencies in order to get them to consider booking you for future work. It's very unlikely that your particular piece would be of any interest to a client company as is. Ad campaigns are carefully coordinated affairs created by the company's marketing department and their ad agency, with commercials written and shot specifically to fit the campaign concept under the agency's supervision (if not by the agency's own in-house production team) and they would virtually never consider a finished ad submitted from outside. Use it to show what you can do and perhaps someone will eventually hire you.
