Is anyone going to pitchfest 2007? I'm seriously considering it. It's in LA at Universal Studios, $250 for the weekend but you get to pitch your stories and take a bunch of free classes taught by screenwriters. Everything's here: http://www.storylink.com/event/pitchfest

If you're gonna go, post here! If anyone from the bay area's going, maybe we can carpool.

I would be reluctant to shell out $250 for a pitch event if I didn't know who was going to be there. I know they mentioned a couple company names on their site, but who are you pitching to from that company. It's one thing to pitch to Ron Howard it's another to pitch to his assistant.

I have never been to a pitch event hosted by this group, but from my past experience with other events you are usually pitching to a low-level assistant who has absolutely no decision making power or a to a struggling producer who doesn't have the budget to even option a script.

I might be tempted to go if they had verifiable testimonials from writers who have attended these events in the past.

If you are paying $250 for something that is "free," then something ain't quite right.

This sounds kind of like an opportunity to waste your time and money, more than anything else...
