I have just completed the filming of a pilot for a series that i want to produce. In all i have about 30 hours of footage and i want to mahe a 24 minute pilot which will be part 1 of the series.

My question relates to the legal route i should take in approaching broadcasters to pitch for the series.

One of the the people involved in the project is the star of the series and i would like to know how to go about protecting his interests as well as protecting my interests. What type of contract should i draw up and what type of contract can i expect from the broadcaster?

Protecting his intrest or yours from what?

i am unsure about how broadcasters like to work with producers. What type of contract would the presenter of the series be approached with and what type of contract will the production company be asked to sign.

For example a television series on National Geographic for instance. "bite me" Is the presenter contracted by the broadcaster or the production company?
