Picture movement- Photoshop and FCP

I know this has been answered before...but I don't have the time to find it on the blog. I have many questions.

1. Is it worth buying photoshop CS3 if you're a video editor?
2. I have final cut pro ( the latest version) on my macbook pro and will the adding of photoshop take up anymore space? FCP is the only major program on my mac... aside from all the other programs that come with it.
3. I want to be able to import photos and once imported into final cut pro be able to move them around...we all see this technique done on tv news...and documentary's...where the camera seems like it's zooming in and panning across the pictures to give it affect. How do you go about doing that?? I have read a lot of post, but no one has given me a specific answer. Like step by step...

An example that I want to follow is in this video with the pictures. It's about 1:03 in....
