Picture in picure

Hi,

i tested track motion to make picture in picture but i have problem with format, i have small video with black strips.

Use Pan/Crop to zoom in on the PIP to eliminate the black bars. Or after opening Pan/Crop, right-click the image in Pan/Crop and choose "Match Output Aspect"

This is one of the reasons I say you should never shoot letterbox.

I'm filming a "commercial" featuring a newscaster. It'll be 60i because I want the video look. My intent is to allow full frame, then pan to allow insertion of video stills referring to "the story"...how is this accomplished using Vegas? (Ummm, PIP look)

You can do it with either pan/crop or track motion. You put the footage you want to be the small picture in a track above the main footage. You can zoom way out using pan/crop and then move the frame around to position the footage.

Or, you can use 2D track motion on the whole track, make the image small, and move it around to where you need it.
