Hey everyone,

So theres about a week and a half left on my reality job, which has been great. Ive really enjoyed shooting reality, contrary to what a lot of people have told me to expect, but I guess "to each his own", and I've been offered my pick on any of 5 reality shows being produced by the production company next year. Ive also hooked up a 3 month drama that Im starting in around 2 weeks. Kick ass.

But, here are some photo's on the shoot (including the weekend trip I got to take to KENYA to film the Masai tribe, which was awesome - lots to say about that if anyone is interested).

Old Masai lady

Masai people at their market

Me on the coldest freakin day in Johannesburg the whole year. On a hill. In the light but icy wind. (With SD302 rig - 2 x Lectro 100's, 1 x Sony UWP, Senn416, HD280phones, bad hair which was until recently black).

The DOP (Kai) and I clowning around at a photo exhibition challenge the contestants had to complete.

Yeah... so thats my post for the week. So what do YOU GUYS look like? I dare ya. :)

Hey timapter,
I'm new to the forum but have been a DVX user for years. cool update pictures you posted. I had a question. When you're in remote places like Kenya (guessing there's not a lot of electricity), what's your game plan for your power supplies for sound and camera? A Case of charged batteries/belt?

I'm going to be doing some travel soon to different parts of the world for
my company's MultiMedia projects and I'm a little concerned about power supply and conversion for sound and video

PS congratulations on the Gig and future offers.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like you got some interesting gigs going on (obviously).

Keep up the good work! Cheers.....

Hey tommy, Kenya is pretty rural, but they do have electricity so it wasnt a problem we faced. I wasnt running off AC, of course, but did have a large supply of both alkaline and rechargable batteries.

I guess if the situation is especially bleak when it comes to camera batteries, a generator could be used to charge up...Regarding conversion, I saw a universal adaptor the other day that can do 220/110volt conversions, as well as having weird retractable pins that can fit any plug in the world, so that shouldnt be too rough either.

Fevercity, thanks, this year has gotten pretty interesting pretty rapidly, we'll see where it goes from here. But its nothing compared to the stuff guys lots of guys (like Oleg) round here do...

Thanks timapter for your advice!

Hey, from being a "so called" guitar virtuoso I know that there's always somebody doing better, and always others doing worse, the important thing is we're all trying to follow our dreams and do our personal best.
So please don't ever discount your work =)

Best,
-Tommy
