photoshop color profiles

hello. i just bought my d90 and up came some problems with colorprofiles and photoshop.

my mac is set to color lcd. and i set photoshop to that as well so i would have the same "exposure" both in finder and in photoshop fpr my scanned photos.

then the d90 use the sRGB IEC 61966-2.1 profile for the jpg and the nef-files are adobe RGB adobe (1998)

so what can i do? if i put my color profile on sRGB my earlier scanned pictures will turn out darker. and if i dont do anything i will have to deal with this pop-up dialogue boxx all the time in photoshop which ask me about my colorprofile.

but even if i set the color profile to sRGB i have to deal with it every time i am going to edit my nef files...

how to deal with all the color profiling in a good way? what do you guys and gals do?

hope for some help.

thanks

just found out about the nef files. obviously i had misunderstood their behaviour a bit. so when i open in photoshop i set them to sRGB as well, but still all my priviously edited photos will end up wrongly exposed because of the colorspace. I guess i just have to tick of to use the embedded color profile on those insted of working color profile, or is there any better solutions?

thanks
