Photos in FCP

Hi Everybody!

I'm having an issue with including photos in my current project. I'm putting some logos in however, that when in the timeline and shown in the canvas, have ugly black spaces on each side. It's almost as if I've imported a photo that's "4:3" and i need it as "16:9". How would I change the background color to white?

If I understand your question correctly, then place a Matte generator below the logo and change the color to white.
 
Or you could zoom in on the picture using the 'scale' slider in the motion tab so the picture fills the screen.
