So, I bought last week an scanner (epson 4990).

I am able now to give a new (digital) life to all my previous works (negative films).
I started to scan the 2001-2004 period. I'm just at the beginning.

Here few pictures shot from various places.

None of these pictures are CC (straight from the scanner) excepted the last one shot with my very bad digital still camera and dedicated to Disjecta.
I planned to buy a decent digital still camera, asap but the HVX200 Phantom Menace is coming...

Nice shots!

Thanks for the dedication :)

I think each time a person post on this forum something in relation with Nature, this person can feel your shadow above him !!

Concerning the shots, I've to calibrate the scanner and find the good workflow.
A Tri-X 400 asa scan makes the shot very grainy when you directly scan in jpeg.

This is just the first pictures. (Some are much better, imo !)

nice shots... really like the saturation and colors in the last frame

Hi Kai.

Thanks.

The last shot is done with a fujifilm s304... It means a lot of pain !
And a lot of waste and disapointment.

I've been really impressed by the precision of Rich Lee's pictures.

I was looking for a d70 because I can re-use my nikon lenses but a 2 millions pixels difference seems to be a real lack compared to a 20d.

so I'm still hesitating.

And Times flies !

Love the Casablanca shot.. very moody.
And just to prove what I said in another post, I'd recommend you go with the D70 if you already have a selection of Nikon lenses. It's a great camera. Me - I've got a 20D only because of prior Canon cameras/lenses.
Trust me. The differences between the two cameras is not worth the extra investment you'll have to make in lenses.

Thanks Sirius_Doggy,

I'll follow your advice. My lovestory with my 35-70 2.8 can continue. !!

I have the D70 and love it. To be honest, the difference between 6 and 8 is not going to kill you. The metering and autofocus is better on the Nikon. The sb-800 flash rocks compared to anything else out there.
