I've owned several Panasonic cameras over the years, and all have been sold with PHOTOfunSTUDIO software. It's a name that is clearly not targeted at professionals or any serious amateur, so I'm willing to guess that nearly everyone here has not given it a second glance. However, when I first got my GH5, PHOTOfunSTUDIO was the only way I could play back 10-bit 4:2:2 files until I got a license to Adobe Premiere -- a period of several months.
I make a lot of YouTube videos, so the other day I checked to see if there were any decent tutorials for PHOTOfunSTUDIO on YouTube... and there weren't. Well, that is a siren song to me, so I just polished off a basic video tutorial on how use this software to watch 10-bit 4:2:2 files, as well as trim them. PHOTOfunSTUDIO is awkward and decidedly non-intuitive, but it does work, and my video shows how to use it. In particular, I think it actually trims 10-bit 4:2:2 files without disturbing the encoding -- in other words, I don't think that it decodes and re-encodes when it trims a file. I think that it snips it off cleanly at the end of a GOP, thus preserving the existing integrity and quality of the video. (I'm not sure about that, but that is my impression.) I am not aware that any other software does this, including pricey packages like Premiere. If you shoot a lot of stock video (like I do), it is a benefit to have something that can trim a long clip without taking a quality hit.
