check out www.elise.com. She has a great section on MT to get you up to speed and beyond. I use Flickr plugged into movable type to present the photos in my blog dynamically (www.kylestauffer.com/blog)
As Kyle mentioned, Flikr is a great way to manage and post photos to your blog. MovableType also allows you to easily upload and post photos directly on your site. Login into your MT site, select your weblog, then select the "Upload File" menu item on the left. It will display a small window that prompts you for the file to upload from your computer. Click the Browse button, find and select your image (jpg, gif). Then select the destination for the image file on your website's drive. Click the ? links for help about this.
Next, click Upload and the file will be uploaded to the website. You will then be prompted to create a new entry containing the image, or to just show you the html that would be used to display the image. You may also have it create a thumbnail. Finally, select if you want the image to be embedded in the weblog entry. Or, an entry with a thumbnail link that will display the image fullsize in a popup window.
