phone jack connection problems

My Sony MDR7506 headphones connected to my DVX100A keep cutting out whenever I move around. Sometimes the right side, sometimes the left and even both. It's intermittant and annoying. The headphones don't have this problem when I use them with other equipment. A sound man I know suggested it's a bad, or dirty connection. Anyone else with this problem? Could it be an internal problem?

Re: phone jack connection problems

The problem is in the cameras jack socket, The contacts are bent.

Best is to replace the socket with a new HIGH QUALITY original one.

For the future, treat this phones jack with caution it is very
delicate, NEVER insert into your camera phone jacks that look chip, Damaged, bent, dirty...

Hi quality Right angled molded jacks are the best and you will not hit them easilly, They do not stick out so much.

I use a short male - female extention, the jack is always inserted in the camera.

Re: phone jack connection problems

this is seams to be a problem with the jack that panasonic uses. they are using a better jack they replaced mine for free. But i am using a right angle head phone extension cable like Danny. it is a better way to go.

Re: phone jack connection problems

Thanks for your info. I purchased my camera Feb. 19th 04, how did you get Panasonic to pay for it? What is the warranty period on this type of repair/ replacement?
Then I'll use the right angle configuration you both talked about.
