Hey all,

Just got software for video uploading and thought it would be a nice idea to cater to a single city - to help promote networking and actually meeting one another and hopefully, be a better resource than Craigslist for local happenings in film/video.

Let me know what you think - you can upload videos and post on the message board as well.

Still building the site to be more robust, btw, so some ironing will still be done.

Hey, i see you are using clipshare script. In my opinion, that is the best script out there right now for the money. I was thinking of launching a site for filmmakers too but i am too busy at the moment. Good luck with your site, i'll be sure to pass the word on for you.

I'd say go for it - video uploading is a good emerging genre - YouTube is now too mainstream and leisure driven for our purposes - not a great site for indy exposure - plus I always think it's tacky when someone looking for work sends me a demo reel on YouTube LOL.

YouTube could use some smaller, niche competitors.

But be prepared - there are still a lot of bugs in ClipShare - that they are working on and the program is pretty functional now, aside from very minor quirks - also be prepared to shell out an extra 50-100 bucks as some of their services come quite in handy - installing the modules on a VPS server saves a lot of time IMO plus removing their logo watermark helps as well.

Yeah, i might look into it in a few months. I just have too many projects going on right now to tackle another one lol. Hey good luck with your site. I hope it works out well for you.
