hi all,

this is a very basic mic. question.

i'm using a sennheiser me-66 mic. mounted onto the 100A camera. the mic has phantom power.

does this mean that i do NOT need to put in a battery into the mic. before using? and that the camera will power the mic. without the use of a battery?

thanks a lot for any answers.

Actually, the mic does not have phantom power, the camera does. That mic is an eclectret condensor, which means you can either give it phantom power, or power it with a battery. If you use an internal AA battery, then you don't need to give it phantom power.

Yes.

You can also leave the battery in, leave the switch off and when phantom hits the mic, the mic will go on, without wearing out the battery.
