Phantom Power?!?!

I don't get it in relation to the DVX100B. I just got the Rode NTG-2 shotgun mic today but I wanted to try it out without the battery. Can someone please explain how I can do this on the DVX100B?

Thank You! =D

There's a switch for each channel marked "Mic Power +48V" or something similar. Set that to 'on' for the channel you have the NTG-2 plugged into.
