hi all,

i'm planning on getting phantom power supply for sanken mic...

originally thinking about Denecke PS-1A ($114), which i know will do the job.

but, i just saw Behringer PS400, which is $20...typically, i know you get
what you pay for. but this gets pretty much all good reviews on BH site.

so, i was wondering does anybody have experience with the Behringer?

thanks.

So why do you need a phantom power supply?
What are you wanting to to put the mic into?

i'm shooting with 5D, so dual audio...

for audio, i'm using sanken mic, going into tascam, dr-40. so i need to power the mic. i could use phantom from
the dr-40. but i believe battery life would only be about 1-2 hours. so i think the better option would be to
get a power supply for the mic and not have to change batts so much.

thanks for any suggestions/advice.

The Behringer needs external 12V power supply, so you will either need to come up with an external 12V battery with appropriate connector or use the included AC "wall-wart" supply.

The Denecke uses a single 9V battery, which you should easily get a whole day out of.

so, it's a matter of how portable you need to be...

thanks mike...that's useful info. i didn't know that the behringer power supply also needs its' own power supply!
i think i'll go with denecke.

thanks.
