Pettrof Follow Focus Mini?

I am looking for a follow focus unit and I don't want to spend too much money. I thought of the redrock, but after reading reviews on their own website/forum I decided not to... Too many unhappy people. Anyone have extended experience with the Petroff Mini?

Thank you.

i had the redrock and had to return it because it would not fit on the HVX. I still have not received a refund and their customer support is very slow in answering. I did replace it with the Vocas follow focus system and it works very well . The quality of the system seems better than the Chrosziel and is trick looking to boot.

There's a time to save money, and a time to get the 'real thing'. I've gotta say that the Bebob Foxi has been great for me, even tho' it costs upward of $400. I don't know if it works in your situation, but part of my calculation was that I can rent this controller out to other filmmakers in the area, knowing that many will not be making the same investment. So hopefully, it will pay for itself, both in functionality and in rentals.

I'm also building it into it's own handle, so I don't have to be mounting/unmounting it all the time. It's position on a tripod handle was less than Ideal, and so I'm giving it a 'flex-arm' type mount so it can be positioned by my fingertips, just beyond the PanHandle that I'm grasping. (I'll post PIX when it's done) .. Never for just one purpose, this handle will also be able to mount to a 'Bickle', which is my version of a handheld support for Camcorders, so I'll have two 'Arri-style' Handles which will give me FOCUS/IRIS control on one handle, and ZOOM/RECORD on the other (The Bebob ZOE zoom control)

See my other post about the ZOE if you've had any problems with it's connector, by the way.

I need a follow focus for a 35mm adaptor, the Bebop is a remote focus for the Camera lens, doesn't work with 35mm adaptors. I need a mechanical follow focus. I think I am going to get the Petroff...

I've just seen that SGPRO are also doing a follow focus. Details are £200-£250 roughly but there's no other info as yet. Release date seems to be around October according to their forum.

I've ordered the SGPRO 35mm lens adaptor and can't wait to try it out.

I would love to know more about your products, they look awesome, but your website is a disaster and has been since the big bang.
True. Any point in fixing the links? All the details, knowledge, tests and images inspired a crowd of "mya$$35" adapters since 2004 when I first published the first one I made, yet noone talks about it as if it was cursed (lots of hype about gosts and wannabees though) Here is a link with more pics:

on three pages..
These are REAL and they are here NOW. (bird in hand vs in the bush)
The less people find out about my products, the more "others" can promote/sell theirs (as "the only choice"). Ehh... just dirty business...

Dan,

Is your Felix adaptor ready for purchase and shipment within a couple weeks? My understanding from previous threads was that is was going to be a more competitively priced adaptor than your previous one but I can't seem to find any mention of it on our site. If so, I would love to see some sample footage and then talk to you about a purchase. Sorry to hijack the thread, but I need a great mid-range adaptor and your MPIC is just not priced to compete with a very capable competitor like the M2 unfortunately. I'm hoping the Felix is as good as it sounds!

Remote Follow Focus???

Remote Follow Focus???

I have a magiqcam and I'm flying a DVX 100A. Anyone have any idea about a "Remote" follow focus. I would love something wireless but a small wire wouldn't bother me! Is there such a thing out there or am I just dreaming? Any help would be great...
