Dick Campbell Veteran Apr 15, 2009 #7 I understand where you're coming from, but as an engineer, I am always wary of devices designed to do more than one thing. They usually do both things "OK", but neither very well.

A artforme Well-known member Apr 16, 2009 #8 Combining Stills and Video Capture is inevitable. The marriage is so simple that it only makes since, just like Cookies and Cream. With RED releasing its new line of Digital Stills and Motion Capture other companies will be bound to follow. Also check out the GH1 if you have not yet. It's a Stills camera with a fully functional video mode.(ie Manual Controls) So DSMC is the only future for me, and I believe the industry. If I can afford RED in a few years time, I'll invest in that.
