Petition: Apple, support Blu-ray in DVD Studio Pro!

Hey I'm in for Apple to get the message. We want Blu-Ray now and a much improved DVD Studio Pro so we can work in the sweet that we have all invested so much time into. I Hope the best, that their close to a release of all new apps or at least DVDSP.

How much longer do you expect physical media to be around? You can get your content straight from your tv, xbox, and of course iTunes. Manufacturers are building these features into their sets.

Maybe Apple's just not bothering with the licensing requirements and leapfrogging the whole optical disk idea.

At this rate we might as well petition for a Red Ray drive. Outside of storage, there really isn't much use for optical disks, even then SSDs keep dropping in price and more laptops come with no optical drive at all...

While you are right about the trend moving towards purely digital delivery of video, I have to throw in the fact that it will always employ some sort of heavy compression to save bandwidth. Blu-Ray is currently the only way to distribute High Quality 1080P video.
