Most people will remember Falk from his role as TV's Columbo, but he had a very long and storied career. Several films earlier than that, plus much theater work. He was also part of John Cassavetes core group where he really showed his acting prowess. Wish more young, indie filmmakers knew about Cassavetes. Here's Falk and Gena Rowlands from a Woman Under the Influence:

RIP Peter.

Would you believe I NEVER knew he had just one eye! Just found out today. I've always enjoyed ALL his work. And that's a pretty powerful scene.

I've been a big fan for a long time... growing up with Columbo, which was one of my favorite TV detectives of all time. Snowleopard is spot on with Peter Falk's work with Cassavetes, what great performances. I am going to break out my copy of "Woman Under the Influence" and re-watch it tonight. RIP Peter.

A heartfelt thank you, Mr. Falk, for all of the entertainment you have given us.

Oh, and just one more thing.............

So sad.

My wife, daughter and I just recently started rewatching the entire Columbo series on DVD.

A lot of fond memories watching those episodes as a kid in the '70s.

RIP Peter
