Beyond crass PETA campaigns, I do think there is a major problem in how animals are continuing to be abused, neglected, and even tortured in the name of convenience and profit margins. From puppy mills to cattle lines, it's not so much a question of whether or not animals should have rights; it's a question of whether or not animals can suffer. The answer is yes, they can.
