hey everyone, im thinkinbg about submitting a film to the converse film festival, but it says we need the locations to be released. so i looked into getting a film permit and it costs 100 dollor for a permit, and 500 dollors each day of filming in a local park! just wondering if anyone on here gets permits for their short films? i had never really thaught about it.

Hell no.... I don't get permits for nada.

I know someone will use me in their "don't be like that guy" responses but I haven't pulled a permit yet.......

yeah, but on the converse site it says that they can not except your film without having the paperwork of permission on any public or private property, our idea is going to be taking place in like the city and a big park.

Unfortunately you'll be bound by their rules: if you want to submit it to their festival, and if you want to film in a park, and they require a release/permission, that's the way it'll have to be. On that note: if it's a Federal park, you'll normally also have to pay one or two Rangers to "hang around" during production.
