PERFUME The Story Of A Murderer

I'll concur... I'm very much looking forward to this one! Looks like December 27th for the US release. I'll be waiting anxiously.

I saw it last night, it is a very good film. I saw the french version though, because to see a movie with the story taking place in Paris and south of France in English was sounding bizarre to me. The photography is very good and the look of Paris in the 18 century was amazing too, very good job there. 8.5/10 A must see for sure.

I just watched the review of this movie and I don't think you could pay me to go see it base upon what I saw.

Yeah. We just got back from it. Interesting. Probably the worst acting I've ever seen in my life. The lead was good, though. Hard to believe Dustin Hoffman is an Oscar winner watching this.

2 stars

It would be 1.5, but the bizarreness factor added .5.

It's amazingly beautiful, just to look at. As a piece of storytelling...well, it's amazingly beautiful, just to look at.

I'd give it a 7.5/10, mostly just for visual style.

LMAO, Karl. That reminds me of:

Guy "What's she look like?"
Girl "All the girls love her."

I watched this last night and have to say I was very disappointed. It started out really good, storywise and visually. I loved the way it was edited. Problem is about an hour in I completely lost interest and found myself doing things around the house for the next hour and a half of the movie...

thus to say, I wish it were paced better

I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it has slow parts, but I was intrigued by the different kind of story you're used to seeing. Try explaining the premise to a friend who knows nothing about this film. They look at you like you're nuts. A guy who has enhanced smell become obsessed and then starts killing people to somehow capture the scent of a person?

But the directing, and photography was great in many scenes. I laughed so hard seeing an infants nostrils swelling. Then at the end, how it succumbs to closure.

Watch this film with no expectation. You may enjoy it.

Saw this the other day, rented it on Netflix... Very, very, very strange... I loved it.

I might by the book for Christmas, as I heard the film does not do the book justice.
