performing audio track "microsurgery"

Due to client's request, I need to rewrite history by, for example, changing "we" to "I" in an interview. Fortunately, it's only the audio -- photos can be used for video. Any tips? Is there better software than FCP for this sort of thing?

See if you can find out what software Michael Moore uses, he does this a lot!

I've done a lot of audio fine-tuning right in the timeline of Final Cut, but Soundtrack Pro makes easy work of it. You can zoom the waveform down to infinity plus one. Just cross-fade like crazy and your blends should be flawless... assuming that you'll be able to find an "I" to steal that works well.

Thanks. Yes, it's an old guy who speaks slowly with lots of pauses. I've already found a nice, isolated "I".
