Bought 2 copies of the same lens.
Both wide open with mirror lockup on tripod, manually focused
Lens A
-slightly more contrast and sharpness apparent at center
-less sharp towards edges
-with autofocus much greater degree of microadjustment required(obviously out of focus)
B
-slightly more contrast and sharpness at edges
-less sharp towards center
-with autofocus almost no microadjustment required
If only autofocus were the deciding factor, would go with B, but I'm also guessing my camera (7D) may need its autfocus calibrated as I have 2 other zooms requiring large amounts of MA.
Any feedback appreciated!
