I own a pelikan 1600, that fits my dvx, batteries, charger & cables, small playback camcorder (gs15), still camera (Coolpix 5700), anamorphic lens, maglight, leatherman and 10 tapes.
I was very concerned to let this travel as luggage, but I made a few calls to say I was traveling with professional delicate equipment and lo and behold, I managed it hand luggage form Malta to France and Back.
The case fits in the plane luggagae compartm, ent, it does take up more than 1 persons alocated space, but it fits and the compartment closes easy! I dont know about us standards, but I managed and am very happy to have done so.
Just a heads up for those that ever wondered like myself
