PELICAN CASE 1600 warning!!!! doesnt fit

I bought the Pelican Case for the HVX200 from ABEL CINETECH in burbank. And the f ing thing isnt designed for a HVX200 like they claimed in the ad online or like they told me in person. I almost crushed my hvx 200 trying to fit my camera in. Not only that the foam is way to tight that i had to help move the foam so it wouldnt conflict with the switches on the side.

can anyone verify this?

thanks

Turn the HVX on its side - I use the 1600 with mine. It should be hand strap down.

trust me when i tell you this thing cant be turned on its side. The foam is cut just so you stand it straight. The top doesnt close right, you can feel the foam crushing down on the camera before you can completely close it. and when you do close it you can feel in the top lid of the camera tight down on the camera.

i think they gave me the wrong one. because i put my dvx 100 in there and it fits perfectly. like it was designed for that camera.

I think you are right... sounds like they may have given you the wrong foam insert. Go back to the store... show them the cam doesn't fit... and ask for some relief.

I bought a Peli 1600 with the un-cut foam insert. If you put the HVX on its side and cut / pull out the foam sections yourself, it will fit.
