Pelican 1500 Case

I'm looking for cases for my new DVX-100B, and just wondering if the Pelican 1500 case would be suitable for the camera + a few accessories? (e.g. batteries/tapes/chargers/mic/various cords) I can't make out whether or not the DVX would fit inside, I've looked at the dimension size specifications but it's really hard to judge unless you have both products in your hands to test.

Can anyone provide any feedback?

Cheers.

I have the 1520 and am very happy with it. In my 1520 I can hold the dvx, an AT897 mic, 2 batteries, 6 tapes, headphones, small xlr cable, wireless lav mic, remote, battery charger and camera connector, lav mic. I have not seen the 1500 in person, but I was steered towards the 1520 from looking at posts on this website.

you may find the 1500 a little cramped, but the 1550 should work fine. I personaly like to keep at least two inches of foam around the cam and the 1500 didnt make this possible with accessories.

I went with the 1560 and I'll got plenty of room. It's larger than the 1500 series, but I like the extra room and additional padding that others have mentioned. My friend has a 1510, but he's got a GL2 (which is smaller than the DVX). I'd go with one of the bigger cases personally. Good luck making your choice.

I had a 1550 and it fit lots of stuff. I had to remove the MIC every time I put the cam awaym so I got an Panasonic AG HT100 case. I may be selling it soon. It fits a lot of stuff, but since I got my matte box, I hate taking it off every time I want to put the cam away. So PM me if anyone is interested.

I have the 1550 with the divider system, I think it gives more room but the pic-foam option looks really snug. I can fit my camera (empty space in pic), headphones, cables, batteries, mics, and some other stuff as needed:

Does anyone know of any cheap places to buy cases within Australia? The 1550 looks good, but it's still quite a lot of money. I checked out cases4less.com which someone posted on here but they don't export to Australia unless it's a purchase of above US$2,500... weak.

If you have a Ritz-Camera they should sell it. You've already gone over the hump and bought a $3700.00 camera. It deserves a nice case!!

my custom case

I designed and built my own custom-cut foam DVX case because, as somebody else said, you spent all that money on a camera so why skimp on the protective case for it? I've been using it for probably close to a year now and it is just as solid as it was when I first created it. None of that "pick-pluck" foam to fall apart, either. I thought it was a good enough design that I sell it as well.

do you sell the precut foam seperately or is it attached to the case ?
cos my pick n pluck foam turned into a spongy lego set

it does not have to be attached to the case. the current template is custom sized for the storm iM2600 case.
