Peaking and a 35 mm adapter

Hi, I would like to know if the "peaking" (red in focus) function in some cameras (Sony V1U in my case) is usable when a 35 mm adapter is attached.

If that is the case, I can suppose that, due to the shallow deep of focus in 35 mm lenses , the peaking will be more precise.

One of the firsts things I discovered in HD is the importance of exact focus...

Thanks in advance,

I am not familiar with the V1U, but have found that most cameras and ZLCD panels that provide a peaking function will show levels of sharpness on anything that is recorded/viewed. Panasonic LCDs are an example of this.

So in your case the answer should be yes.

BTW shallow focus may make the peaking 'pop' at the exact focus point, but you will find that it is still dang hard to keep a moving subject in focus with 1.4 or 2.8, even with the magic of peaking...

Thanks for the replies, I´m trying to resolv the problem of being sure the subject of interest is in focus. I discovered that the V1 peaking function is not precise. Some objects recorded "red in focus", were not exactly in focus when reproduced in a 20" monitor.

Sadly, a good On Camera Monitor is more or less $2000.

Yes, Its helpful on the EX-1 and actually very helpful on double checking focus of the video camera on the GG.
