PDF in DVD Studio Pro

Hey everybody,

Is it possible to make a menu in DVD Studio Pro not with links to movies made in Final Cut, but with PDF files which can be taken of the dvd. Because I have to make a nice menu for only pdf files.
The thing is that if you write the menu on the dvd it makes a file that can be read on a dvd player, so if somebody knows how to avoid this it would be a great help. Thanx in advance.

Cheers Niels

It's been a while since I've done it, and the names of the parameters are probably off, but I think this is what you are looking for....

You can create a button which will point to a file or web address. I believe it is called "DVD@ccess". You must put the PDF into a folder, and select it with the DVD-ROM file adder, and then when the button is clicked, it will find the pdf file and launch it with the user's default PDF viewer.

I have made the dvd with multiple links to pdf's files. I did it like it says in the information folder. I made a menu with a link to another menu where I made a link where you can download the pdf's. But when I click on it, it just opens a blank menu without starting up the pdf. Anybody knows what I am doing wrong here?

Hey Mike, I got it to work. It wasn't the dvd@acces, I got that enabled all ready. The thing was that my dvd name wasn't in capitals like it was supposed to be. I got it to work now in in the preview of dvd studio pro, but if I burn it on a dvd it doesn't work, it won't open the pdf's by clicking on the link.

I got another question regarding this subject. The DVD works (it still won't open all the pdf's directly, but ok) on a apple computer, but on a windows based computer it won't recognize the dvd. Anybody knows why? I am going crazy here, any help would be great!

Cheers,
Niels

That's interesting... I'm assuming you enabled Joilet Support for the ROM content...

Disc media? Do other discs of the same media play back on your PC?

Go through the steps to find the source of the problem?

(IE, Burn a DVD that is just an autoplay movie with no menu, see if it plays back everywhere, if not keep moving back steps and find out where the problem occurs)

Thanks Mike for your help, it appears that other media doesn't play either. I'll try to find the source of the problem.

Cheers
