PCMCIA Suggestions?

Can anyone suggest a PCMCIA solution that is installed in the FRONT of the computer and not in the back?

Thanks.

On PC or Mac?
On the PC there seem to be a ton of things out there - but not sure about Macs - unless you want to spring for Panasonic's 5 card P2 reader....

Hi Luis,

Its for a PC, I haven't been able to scare anything up yet, only rear mounted units... which are really impractical for heavy use. What have you found?

thanks.

newegg.com is a very reputable dealer. Thet have some of the best prices for computer components. I would do a search there.

Great info!

Great info!

I was moaning and groaning just thinking about the $1700 I was going to have to drop on that Panasonic 6 card reader thing. But this information about this $160 reader is great news! We just finished a film, and we ran into some problems, and now we'll have the right product for next time. Thanks.

Mikel

ps - Is there a USB 2.0 or better yet a firewire IEEE interface external PCMCIA reader out there?

Only the Panasonic one. No other external reader will work. There are lots of them out there, and *none* of them work with P2, nor will they ever, unless they include the same kind of processing power and circuitry that the Panasonic one has (which is why the Panasonic one is so much more expensive...)
