PCI Firewire 800 card recommendations?

[spikeman256]

1 - Which Macs have Firewire 800 built in?

2 - Do most PC laptops and desktops that have built in firewire, only have fw400?

3 - I need one for a Mac and one for a PC. Any recommendations from the following list or another brand?

Firewire Direct 800 pci - $60
LaCie Firewire 800 pci - $60
SIIG 800 pic - $60

I know people using an adapter (expresscard/FW 800 for example) to ue FW 800 drives for pc..but they cost more than 60 bucks in europe...!

I have a Sonnet Allegro FW 800 card in my 1.8 DP. Three ports, no problems, not too expensive.

All Macs have FW800 built in.

I use the FW800 for FCP media files. A second FW bus is recommended.
