PC with Premiere CS3 (3.1) and HVX PAL

Hey,
I am a Mac user myself and never really spent time looking into windows compatible software solutions for the HVX. I am asking this for a friend. He has a PC with Premiere CS3 (3.1). If he wants to record straight from the HVX (PAL) to his PC laptop in DVCPro HD, can he use Premiere Pro? What software would you recommend for monitoring, could he also just use Premiere? What other solutions would you recommend? I heard about on Location but I couldn't find out if it properly supports the Pal HVX (DVCPro HD 720/1080)....

You wouldn't use Premiere Pro, you'd use Adobe OnLocation (which comes in the CS3 suite). And yes, it can do that and does it very well.

yeah its worth noting that it does NOT record into MXF format, and Yes you can import the AVI's it create into prem but these are NOT handled nativley, currently we just use onlocation for monitoring and NOT ingestion not to say we would if we had too
