PC Audio Software for Film

Why did you give it up? I still use Sawstudio and I think its about the best and most reliable software out there to mix midi, serious multitrack recording and video all at the same time and with great accuracy.

I started of in theatre and very low budget films, when I started to get work, how do I put this so I dont sound "condesending??, a that paid it was all Protools shows. At that time PT only ran on the Mac so I ended up switching systems also. I tried having both around for awhile but it was just too big a pain. Also at that time SAW didn't do feet and frames, and that is sort of a requirement. But I liked the app a lot. At that time it was much more stable than PT and did 90% of what PT did ( and a bunch more in some ways) at a fraction of the cost. But I work in the industry and sort of have to go where the work is.

I never mentioned PT with TDM, only that LE isn't for video (although you can still do it, I guess). That's a fact.

No, I said that, irrespective of how the "Pro" ProTools versions were in the past (which I make no comment on), it makes sense that Avid wouldn't ignore that aspect ion the future.

No, that you can't do surround in LE natively. You said so yourself in another post.

No, I meant "[if] your going to have a sound person really work on it." That was condescending. But after your reply, I'm sure you didn't mean it. No worries.

Sounds good . You seem to know your stuff, and it's not like we're really in disagreement about anything here :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

I'll accept the last and not quible about the rest.
Cheers
