PBS rates

Does anybody have an idea of how much PBS pays a producer to air his/her half-hour independent film?

Thanks,
Bart

I think it would depend on the station that does the purchasing,
The New York, Washington, and Boston member stations seem to be the ones producing and buying most of the aired programs.. Every now and again something out of Chicago.

It would probably depend on the merit as well, something like Frontline will probably get a good fee, but a show about guys in van driving to folk art creators probably less so..

I'd be curious to know,
being in NC you're probably in the same boat we are, you could try contact a producer from one of the stations or talk to someone who has had something picked up.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Sold a short to a PBS program and got $100/minute. Don't know if that's standard, but having it screen on PBS is more important to me than the money.

Hey Hairy, is there any where that I can go to view your short? Do you have it posted some where?

We're currently negotiating streaming video/internet/cell phone/etc rights so we had to take down the video link. We're having our NYC premier on December 2nd if you're in town. Otherwise, I'll certainly be letting everyone know when we're premiering on PBS!
