Paying Actors/Crew

I pay in beer (seriously).

It's all about experience for persons concerned and a bit of fun for what I'm doing.

That's a loaded question and a highly debated one. You will get opinions that range from copy/credit/meals, to Union minimums and above. Personally, I do whatever I can within the budget limits and I always try my best to place the cast & crew first in the mix.

For instance I've done shoots where the cast was copy/credit with a 1.5 back-end points deal. Anything to help them out. And of course when possible I'll give them a hundred bucks a day. Not much, but for low/no budget shoots it helps.

As for crew, well that will vary of course. Anywhere from 100.00-300.00/day for a real low budget gig on up, depending on the production. It's a real hard answer to give, there's simply too many variables. I've done shoots where no one gets paid, just credit all around. Then on others no one was paid less than $500/day (except the PA's/interns). Hope this makes sense and helps.

Just remember two things, you get what you pay for, and if your paying nothing, the food better be great.
